Movies like the “The Wedding Planner” have made it seem like event planning is riveting and a romantic career path. Being an corporate event planner sounds exciting, and it is, but there is so much more to event planning than meets the eye. Don’t get us wrong, corporate event planning is an engaging, fun, and purposeful thing to do but there is so much more involved that people are not aware of.

Behind the Scenes and Every Detail

Most corporate event planners work behind the scenes and are never seen. You may attend an event and never see the one who has organized it. An event planner has the important, and sometimes stressful task, of overseeing all the details and elements of an event. This might look like doing menial tasks, delegating tasks, and running around on the day of an event. Running an event is sometimes like conducting an orchestra. There are so many factors and parts at play. Although an amazing role, corporate event planners are not immune from grunt work and the stress of the job.

Cleaning up the Mess

People often leave after an event and forget that there is a lot to do after one. Although it may not be the job of a corporate event planner to clean up after an event, it doesn’t mean that it hasn’t happened. There have been many times where event planners have had to also clean up after an event, whether it is picking up rubbish or coordinating a pack down. When everyone else has gone home the corporate event planner stays behind to make sure all is looked after.
