Creating an exciting corporate event that keeps people engaged means being innovative and employing different trends and ideas. There are some trends that are timeless and there are new ones emerging. However, not all trends should tickle your fancy. Somethings will work well and there are other things you should just avoid. Find out what we recommend you ignore this 2024!
Cliché team building activities
Most corporate events aim to foster team bonding. Team building events can range from trust exercises to competitions. Don’t fall into the trap of using generic activities that people might have done a dozen times before. We have all built towers out of pasta sticks or played a round of trivia together. Think of fresh creative team building activities that will keep the attendees engaged.
Choose your guest speaker well
Many corporate events invite guest speakers to headline the event or to encourage the team. Guest speakers are great but avoid hiring “on trend” guest speakers who may be inauthentic or not relatable to your company brand or ethos. Don’t just hire any social media influencer or speaker. Find someone who is sincere, relatable, and even an expert in your industry. The last thing people want to do at a corporate event is listen to someone that makes them switch off.

Interesting foods
Most company events, especially day long ones, use catering. You want to be able to feed your guests and attendees throughout the day or whenever you are hosting a corporate event. By the time it is time to eat, people are hungry and waiting for food. Don’t let them down by choosing to cater in a way that is not fitted to different dietary preferences or catering that is one-size-fits-all. Choose a diverse menu with food that is reliable. An event planner is helpful in organizing catering and food options that will be best suited to a corporate event.
While a trend always seems like a good idea, be picky with what you decide to choose! All because something is a trend doesn’t mean it will fit well with your company and your corporate event. Trends come and go. Hire an event planner to find the trends best suited to your brand ethos and needs.
