Carol’s Photography Vendor Feature

Imagine Events is taking the next couple of months to feature some of our favorite vendors! And today Imagine is excited to shine the spotlight on Carol’s Photography! We asked Carol of Carol’s Photography some important questions about events and wedding planning coming from a photographer’s point of view!

Tell us your name, your business, and a little bit about yourself personally?

Carol Gillis, Carol’s Photography…. I’m a fun lovin’ gal who has the best job in the world!! I get to work with my best friend  …. my hubby and partner in this business. We love photographing “EMOTIONS”, and “LOVE”…capturing the moments of our clients wedding day!

How did you get into business? Was this something you were always passionate about?

I have always loved capturing people and landscape, my camera and I  were always joined at the hip (so to speak).
I had taken courses in the art of photography but never started doing it professionally till the spring of 2002 to help offset the significant decline in family income due to the BSE crisis in the cattle industry.
My life had been the ranch before this!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

The moments, emotion, smiles, laughter and some times tears. I just get caught up with how my couples are feeling.

What is your least favorite thing about weddings?

I can’t honestly say that I have any least favorite thing about a wedding

What is your second favorite type of event to provide services for and why?

Glamour sessions- I just love anything glamour, they are my models!

How far in advance should potential clients be contacting you to book for services?

Most couples book us as soon as they have their venue & church booked, We’ve been book anywhere from 3 years to 6 months before depending on when they got engaged.

As a professional, what is one thing you want brides and grooms to know about booking services with you?

We treat every wedding with the respect they deserve, it is never too small or too big. Most important to us is that our couples enjoy their wedding day and have a load of fun with their wedding party! We’ll laugh with you, smile with you, even shed a tear or two with you!

If you could give your clients 1 tip to make their event planning process easier, what would you want to tell them?

Hire a wedding planner, if you can’t afford the whole package, then get the “day of” coverage.
